Privacy policy

Vending For Sale (“we”) runs vendingforsale.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your choices. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we collect

• Seller accounts: name, email, optional phone and business name, and a password (stored hashed).
• Listings: what you post, including photos and the city. Your email and phone are never shown on a listing.
• Messages to sellers: the buyer's name, email, optional phone and message, which we store and forward to the seller.
• Broker and placement requests, and contact messages: what you enter in those forms.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive the amount, date and a payment reference, never your card number.
• Newsletter: your email, when and where you subscribed, and the exact consent text you agreed to.
• Usage: pages visited and approximate location via Google Analytics, and standard server logs.

How we use it

• To publish and manage listings, send receipts, renewal reminders and account emails.
• To forward buyer messages to sellers (with the buyer's email as the reply-to address).
• To pass a placement request to the vending operator we match you with, and a broker request to the staff handling it.
• To prevent spam and fraud, including Cloudflare Turnstile checks on forms.
• To send the newsletter, only if you opted in. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that run the site for us (Stripe for payments, Resend for email delivery, Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and our hosting provider), with the seller you message, with the operator you ask us to match you with, or where the law requires. Some providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

Account and listing data stays while your account is open. Unpaid draft listings are deleted after a week. Sold listings stay up as a public record of the sale, without your contact details. You can ask us to delete your account and listings at any time.

Your choices

• Access or correct your information from your dashboard, or by emailing us.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any issue.
• Ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@vendingforsale.ca.
